Hello everyone!

I have been nominated for the blogger nomination award by Thasleema Sajid, LIBARAH ( I thank her immensely for the kindness as I had just started following her recently and genuinely liked few of her posts a lot. She, like few other bloggers gave me encouragement by liking my recipe posts and giving wonderful comments on them! And now nominating me for this award and introducing me to a new aspect of blogging on!

A few words now to give you an idea of the origin of my blog. Little did I ever know what blogging was! It so happened that I opened an account on instagram and followed a certain famous food blog there. For that purpose I opened an account on facebook too.

On instagram, I participated in a competition held by that food blog where I sent a few recipes, and won a prize too! Eventually went on to participate in three more contests and won prizes in two of them. During this journey, my elder sister advised me to open my own food blog so that my recipes could be with me and could be referred by others too. This is how I started this blog!

The initial journey wasn’t so easy, as I had no clue about phographing the dishes and the method of using wordpress in general. Slowly and steadily I sort of learnt to use wordpress by trial and error. About photography, I still am learning and rephotographing those dishes which I find bit unsatisfactory, even for the third time. As I have just my mobile for this purpose and have to squeeze in time between the cooking and lunch time as daylight is my only saviour for the same and I photograph and blog, what I cook! Also in this case too, I started studying other food photography on Google to get an idea of how the food should be presented! One big problem I still am facing that I am unable to make an index for my recipes.

On 19 September 2018, my blog completed 1yr, which I realised when I received a congratulatory message from WordPress! With many setbacks where I had to slow down or even stop blooging completely, sometimes even with thoughts of quitting, I still am thankfully blogging my recipes and enjoying it too! Likes and comments of appreciation from other bloggers encourages me and keeps me going.


Well, what can I say!? I myself am almost new. Still… Few words…

Blog with your heart. Study other blogs of your type to improvise. Initially, you might commit a few mistakes, and later might find that your blog is not upto the mark. But corrections can always be made and life itself is a learning process in general. Always strive for perfection! Don’t quit if there are problems. Resume when the storm has died down, you will realise later that this was your best decision!

Learn to appreciate the efforts of other bloggers too… I realised this a bit later as was new to all this and was caught up in the grind of the daily routine (with responsibility of large family & my duties) and blogging. Make some time to like and appreciate others posts, and encourage them too.

An artist by nature, I love painting, travelling to different places and photographing nature, gardening, crochet, reading, etc. It's my nature to give my best to anything and everything I do. From a person who could cook very few dishes..... I have converted myself to a person who now can cook varied dishes! I like perfection in all my work. Though there are numerous recipes I haven't tried my hand at..... there are many other in which I have gained exerpertise only by trial and error! I still watch all interesting cookery shows on TV to gain more knowledge on cooking techniques of other cultures from here and abroad!! Nowadays, I have started adding healthy twists to my dishes as and when I can without compromising on their original taste. I can totally understand about getting caught up with the daily grind, I always wish I had more time for blogging but of course that’s never the case!
