NKGSB style Lasni chutney is a unique and absolutely delicious chutney made by the NKGSB community of Karwar to be had with idlis or dosas. It is basically a garlic and coconut chutney made up of a very few but healthy ingredients.
This chutney, even today is my personal favourite and a comfort food for me when combined with varan bhaat (daal rice)!
INGREDIENTS :
1 cup Fresh grated coconut
4 – 5 Garlic cloves (medium size)….. to be adjusted
1 tsp Red chilli powder…. to be adjusted
1/2 tsp Tamarind …….to be adjusted
Salt taste
METHOD :
1. To begin making lasun chutney, grind together all given ingredients in a mixer grinder using sufficient water. Do maintain the thickness of the chutney.
2. Check seasoning.
3. Serve this delicious NKGSB Style Lasni Chutney with idlis, dosas, Ghaavan, Bhaakari or Rawaa Taandalaache Poale.
NOTE :
For this chutney, too much of garlic isn’t used. The taste of the chutney should be checked after grinding and more garlic should be added only if required. The taste should be slightly garlicky with a slight hint of tanginess from the tamarind!
This super tasty lasun chutney tastes very good even with some varan bhaat (daal rice) or hot bhaakari and smashed raw onion by the side!
Awesome!
